Position Summary

The department is committed to handling ad-hoc requests and proactive tasks to thoroughly analyze reports, ensuring accuracy, and considering market trends and regulatory changes. Expert commentaries are provided, highlighting alternative perspectives and relevance/implications for the Kingdom, and findings are communicated clearly to external stakeholders. A comprehensive record of analyzed reports is maintained for future reference.

Proactive monitoring and analysis of energy-related articles, publications, and resources are undertaken to keep internal and external stakeholders up to date and informed. The team cross-references, analyzes new information, summarizes, and shares valuable insights within KAPSARC through internal notes and knowledge-sharing sessions. Furthermore, coordination with internal stakeholders is carried out to provide evidence-based responses to external research, studies, or publications, showcasing KAPSARC's latest insights. Finally, the team will coordinate closely with KAPSARC Knowledge and Analysis (K&A) programs to produce short insights and summaries from KAPSARC publications to be shared.

 

Major Accountabilities

Energy Intelligence

  • Monitor new articles, publications, and information related to energy economics and sustainability.
  • Analyze ad-hoc requests, ensure accurate and comprehensive reports and reviews are produced.
  • Work closely with KAPSARC K&A programs to produce short insights summarizing KAPSARC publications.
  • Verify external reports accuracy and consider available data on market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Offer expert commentaries on external reports, highlight alternative perspectives and relevance/implications for the Kingdom and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze relevant reports, deduce implications, and communicate findings promptly.
  • Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to keep teams informed about emerging energy sector trends.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to draft evidence-based responses to external reports and asks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of analyzed reports and utilize data tracking systems.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

  • Provide inputs to the design and implementation of policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Reporting

  • Analyze the information and prepare reports and dashboards in a timely and accurate manner to meet the requirements, policies, and quality standards.

Related Assignments

Qualifications and Experience

Recommended Qualifications and Years of Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • PhD degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Prior experience of working in a consulting capacity is a must.
  • Experience in the energy sector and/or public policy is preferred.
  • Experience in writing briefing notes, reports and reviews.
